Space Walk

Just how big is our Solar System?   The students in our classroom had the opportunity to "scale down" the System and take a walk outside visualizing the distance between the sun and all of the planets.  For modeling purposes, we followed the rule that one yard= 3,600,000 miles in the Solar System.  On our space journey (or "pace" journey), we estimated each yard to be one large pace.   Enjoy the pictures from our Solar Walk!

Taylor had fun visiting her Granny and Pa Pa in Missouri. This is Taylor's Granny. We celebrated Granny and Pa Pa's 40th wedding anniversary while we were visiting with a surprise party for them. Taylor kept the secret all week-way to go, Taylor!

Taylor is in Mammoth Spring, AR. Over 9 million gallons of water go over this dam every hour- it's the largest spring in Arkansas.

Taylor and her brothers spent many days were spent looking for frogs and snakes. The kids did catch one snake, but he got away. However, we did find a box turtle that we brought home and named Charlie.
